If your new item costs a different amount from the item you're returning, the difference is settled when you place your exchange.
New item costs more
You pay the difference to your payment method on file, in the same step as your exchange. There's no second checkout.
On your statement, the charge shows as "Exchange order" with your order number and the retailer's name.
Your bank may ask you to verify the payment. If it does, complete the verification to place your exchange.
If your bank declines the payment, try a different payment method. See How do I update my payment method on file?
New item costs less
We refund the difference to your original payment method. It may take 1 to 5 business days to show. If you paid with Buy Now, Pay Later, the difference goes back to your BNPL provider.
Returned some items for a refund and exchanged others? The refund for those items also goes back to your original payment method, at the same time.
Same price
There's nothing to pay.
What if things change later?
The retailer cancels your new order: we refund it in full. See Why was my exchange cancelled?
You return your new order: any difference you paid is refunded to your payment method on file. See Can I return or exchange my new order?
